Asharkii Ellis [last updated August, 2003]
Greetings fellow mustangs! This is Asharkii and I'm so happy to see that everyone is prospering and in good health. There is so much to say about East High and the classmates and teachers that I met while there from 7th until 12th grade, and sometimes I find myself looking through my senior book at all of the good memories of senior year and I wonder how and what everyone is doing! By the grace of God I'll be graduating from nursing school soon. After high school I went to school for two years, and after that fourth semester I decided I would sit out for a semester....u know that one semester break lasted longer than I expected, it turned into two years. So pretty soon I'll be graduating! I can't wait to see everyone in a few years at the reunion until then I'll hold on to the very many memories I have of East High School and the people that I met along the way!

Hello fellow East High graduates, especially the dynamic graduates of the Class of "97"!! I'm currently at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where I will be graduating in May 2002 in Biology. Hopefully I will be attending pharmacy school in August 2002. It's great to hear that my fellow classmates are still on top and handling business like we did in high school. Remember to stay focused and keep God first in your life. Much love to my favorite teacher Mrs. Maclin, thanks for putting up with me for 3 long years.

Winston Jordan [last updated May, 2005]
What's up illustrious class of 1997!
it's truly an honor to be able to say that I'm a product of the greatest school this side of the Mississippi.
I check in from time to time to see how blessed my fellow class of alumni have been.
I can truly say that God is good ALL THE TIME.
Since the days of roaming the halls of ol' East, I've gone to prepare to study at ITT Technical Institute this fall for a degree in CAD (computer-aided drafting).
I also run my own printing business out my office at home. I do pretty nice for myslef with it. I have business card and publication contracts with several businesses in the area. (business cards, invitiations, programs, whatever)
As for personal life, I am married with two sons ages three and the other will be five in July.
My business and preparing for school later this year leaves little time for personal time with my wife...because I'm either delivering an order, pursuing potential new clients, or working on an order.
I really hope that you have all found your calling in life and are happy.
I just have to add this to my greeting.
Mr. Simpson AKA Simp-dog,
rest In peace..you are missed.
I hope to see you all healthy and happy in two years.
God bless.

Hello Everybody! I am so proud of my fellow Mustangs! All of you seem to be doing so well. To my surprise I remembered everyone listed except one person. As for myself, I haven't been up to much. I completed my CIS degree... though I haven't had the chance to use it... So I am open to any Employment Opportunities :) I did get married... Not my best move...(No- I did not marry Billy Wilkins!)... but I now have two handsome boys. The oldest you may remember is now 11! Christy Wilkins and I are still best friends. I am looking forward to the reunion. Feel Free to keep in touch.

Wut up Kings and Queens. I am currently teaching P.E. at Memphis Academy of Health Sciences, a charter middle school in its fourth year of existence. I am also the football team's head coach coach. This was our first year playing football and we claimed the middle school city championship by beating Vance Middle School. It's funny to read that. I don't know if anyone reads this, but I hope all are doing well. PEACE OUT!!

DaVeeta Midgett [last updated February, 2000]
I believe that the most memorable event that I had at "The Academy" (East High) was the time when the track team of '96 went on an indoor trip to Baton Rouge, all the members of the team during that time will know exactly what I am talking about, Coach Young as well as Mr. Turner clicked on several of us, this was the time when my room along with a couple of other girls that where in the same room as myself got "BUSTED", and I honestly thought that I could get away with the whole ordeal! It's funny now but at the time it wasn't funny at all. However, there at East High there were several great memories along with those that weren't so good. How can I ever forget about the great deeds that Dr. Lowell Winston did not only for the student's but for the faculty as well, he made things possible for everyone. Dr. Winston was great, it is just too bad that the other classes didn't get the opportunity to have him as their principal. Nevertheless I really enjoyed my stay at East High School, I will always cherrish those days.

Hey all. I know that some of you may not know me, but the East Jr. High and Lester Elementary crew will. I am doing fine as a gospel recording artist. I have a wife and a beautiful three year old daughter, Zoe. I just resigned from teaching to do music full time, because my travel schedule is very hectic. I look forward to re-connecting with you guys. I still talk to some (Shumeka, Tony Harris and a few others), but I want to see those that I have not seen in years (Tanya Henderson, Megan, Mishone, etc) I am also a minister of the gospel and have been blessed to travel all over the world with God's message of hope, restoration and love. Be blessed!

What's up Mighty Mustangs! It is sooooo good to hear that everyone is doing well and prospering from what I have read. Although I did not Graduate with you guys in 1997. I left in 1995 while in 10th grade due to my mother passing away from cancer. I graduated from Westwood 1997 after moving with relatives. I remember all the fun times we had while growing together at East. Some of you stuck close by me when I lost my mom just to name a few Marquette NorFleet(play big brother), Bridgette Jeffries, Shalika Boyce( not sure where she is now)and Tanya Banks-Greene. I still have the sympathy card you guys signed. But on a more positive note I am now 28 years old. I have been empoyed with AT&T for 6years. I am not married & not seeing anyoone, but I have a 14 month old son who is the light of my life Harrison Emery Jackson. I attended the University of Memphis for 2 semesters 1999-2000 and then decided that college wasn't for me LOL. But now I am in my first year at Southwest Community College majoring in Pre-Law with the dream of becoming a judge.
Well I know I have written a book. I pray that God Bless's each and everyone of you so abundantly that your blessings overflow. And I wish for you all PEACE,WEALTH,GOOD HEALTH & SWEET COMPANSIONSHIP for the rest of your years.
God Bless
