Holland, Kenneth A. [last updated April, 2001]
Ken and Marge met at the University of Arkansas where Marge was working on her Master's in English and Ken was playing first string tailback for the Razorbacks. Ken was raised in Memphis and graduated from Central High School. He enrolled at Southwestern (now Rhodes College) on a football scholarship. Ken joined the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and was awarded a purple heart and bronze star for his service in the South Pacific. He returned to the University of Arkansas to play football and continue his education. There he met Marge Dildy from Hope, Arkansas. He and Marge were married July 11, 1948 in Hope. After graduating, they were hired to teach at East High School, Memphis' newest school--Ken in Physical Education and Marge in English. Ken was East High School's first football coach. After years of teaching at East, Ken and Marge returned to the University of Arkansas to work on advanced degrees. After receiving their doctorates in 1963, they taught at Northeastern State College (now a University) in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Ken coached football, basketball, tennis and taught physical education. Marge taught English before being appointed Dean of Graduate School. They retired from Northeastern and continue to make Tahlequah their home. Their son, Mike, graduated from University of the South at Sewanee and is a graduate student at the University of Arkansas.

Jackson, Patricia ("Mrs. J") [last updated August, 2005] [E-mail address updated August, 2006]
Hello Fellow Mustangs!
It is with great pleasure that I contact each of you. Time and circumstances have brought about many changes. However, it is good to know that the "fruits of my labor" was not in vain. I have enjoyed reading the many profiles of my former students. We, the staff prepared you to become successful individuals. For, that I am most proud.
I regret to tell you that your school-East High has undergone a drastic change. I pray that the image of East High does not tarnish. Our current students of the MCS system do not know the path that was charted for them. I believe, if given an administrator who truly values education, then the true pride of the Mustang spirit will reign.
Ms. J is currently teaching with MCS at Treadwell High. I am completing the final work towards the last advance degree-ED.S. Please contact me by email. Love always.
