The Class of 1960 reaches the traditional year to begin receiving Social Security benefits, so to prove age is just number, classmates gathered Saturday night, June 23, 2007, at the Pickering Center in Germantown for a dinner and "sock hop." Catfish and all the trimmings, soft drinks, beer and wine. $25 a person - 6PM to 11 PM Saturday, June 25th, we'll dress up a little and go to Germantown Country Club. Fabulous Top Round of Beef and Shrimp Scampi, and great desserts. A cash bar will be provided. PAST REUNIONS: April 16, 2000 - The East High Alumni Page would like to have reports and photographs of the reunion activities of the Class of 1960 from participants. This alumni page did not receive an invitation to cover the reunion events. We would like to share the reunion memories with other class members by posting your reports and pictures here. [Previously posted announcements concerning the reunion] April 4, 2000 - Sixty-three alumni from the Class of 1960 have said they will attend one or more of the Class Reunion events April 14 and 15 [2000] in Memphis. About a dozen have not confirmed their reservations with a deposit, however. The requested deadline for deposits was March 31. For more details about the reunion events and contacts, please read the previously posted annoucement immediately below. [previous posting from March, 2000] - The East High Class of 1960 gathers for it's 40-year reunion April 14 and 15 [2000]. Payment for reservations is due by March 31. Friday night, April 14, class members meet at the Community Room at Union Planters Bank, 6200 Poplar, 7pm until 11pm. Dress is casual, barbecue is on the menu. Saturday evening, April 15, the class gathers at the home of an alumnus in east Memphis at 7 o'clock. Please inquire of the office noted below for exact location. Again, dress is casual. The dinner is catered. The scheduled reunion events will come to a close at midnight. There is the possibility of another reunion event. If it is scheduled and the information made available to The East High Alumni Page, it will be posted here. Organizers are extending invitations and hope several teachers of the class will attend the reunion events. Alumni that may have photo albums of class activities are encouraged to bring them and share them with classmates during the reunion.
